Pokedex #028-030

ATTENTION: Please read #001-027 before you read this. Thanks!

Pokedex #028: Sandslash: Sandslash can roll up its body as if it were a ball covered with large spikes. In battle, this Pokémon will try to make the foe flinch by jabbing it with its spines. It then leaps at the stunned foe to tear wildly with its sharp claws.

Pokedex #029: Nidoran♀: Nidoran♀ has barbs that secrete a powerful poison. They are thought to have developed as protection for this small-bodied Pokémon. When enraged, it releases a horrible toxin from its horn.
Pokedex #030: Nidorina: When Nidorina are with their friends or family, they keep their barbs tucked away to prevent hurting each other. This Pokémon appears to become nervous if separated from the others.

Monthly Idea Generator of Mayo (May)

I'm having trouble coming up with some ideas. Can you guys help me think of something? If you can, post in the comments section or email me at Cobracrane11@gmail.com. Thanks!

Pokedex #025-027

ATTENTION: Please read #001-024 before you read this. Thanks!

Pokedex #025: Pikachu: It has small electric sacs on both its cheeks. If threatened, it looses electric charges from the sacs.

Pokedex #026: Raichu: This Pokémon exudes a weak electrical charge from all over its body that makes it take on a slight glow in darkness. Raichu plants its tail in the ground to discharge electricity.

Pokedex #027: Sandshrew: Sandshrew has a very dry hide that is extremely tough. The Pokémon can roll into a ball that repels any attack. At night, it burrows into the desert to sleep.

Pokedex #022-024

ATTENTION: Please read pokedex #001-021 before you read this. Thanks!

Pokedex #022: Fearow: Fearow is recognized by its long neck and elongated beak. They are conveniently shaped for catching prey in soil or water. It deftly moves its long and skinny beak to pluck prey.

Pokedex #023:Ekans: Ekans curls itself up in a spiral while it rests. Assuming this position allows it to quickly respond to a threat from any direction with a glare from its upraised head.

Pokedex #024: Arbok: This Pokémon is terrifically strong in order to constrict things with its body. It can even flatten steel oil drums. Once Arbok wraps its body around its foe, escaping its crunching embrace is impossible.

Pokedex #019-021

ATTENTION: Please read pokedex #001-018 before reading this. Thank you!

Pokedex #019: Rattata: Rattata is cautious in the extreme. Even while it is asleep, it constantly listens by moving its ears around. It is not picky about where it lives—it will make its nest anywhere.

Pokedex #020: Raticate: Raticate’s sturdy fangs grow steadily. To keep them ground down, it gnaws on rocks and logs. It may even chew on the walls of houses.

Pokedex #021: Spearow: Spearow has a very loud cry that can be heard over half a mile away. If its high, keening cry is heard echoing all around, it is a sign that they are warning each other of danger.

Pokedex #016-018

ATTENTION: Please read pokedex #001-015 before you read this. Thank you!

Pokedex #016: Pidgey: Pidgey has an extremely sharp sense of direction. It is capable of unerringly returning home to its nest, however far it may be removed from its familiar surroundings.

Pokedex #017: Pidgeotto: Pidgeotto claims a large area as its own territory. This Pokémon flies around, patrolling its living space. If its territory is violated, it shows no mercy in thoroughly punishing the foe with its sharp claws.

Pokedex #018: Pidgeot: This Pokémon has a dazzling plumage of beautifully glossy feathers. Many Trainers are captivated by the striking beauty of the feathers on its head, compelling them to choose Pidgeot as their Pokémon. Pidgeot mega evolves with the Pidgeotite.

Pokedex #013-015

ATTENTION: Please read pokedex #001-012 before reading this.

Pokedex #013: Weedle: Weedle has an extremely acute sense of smell. It is capable of distinguishing its favorite kinds of leaves from those it dislikes just by sniffing with its big red proboscis (nose).

Pokedex #014: Kakuna:  Kakuna remains virtually immobile as it clings to a tree. However, on the inside, it is extremely busy as it prepares for its coming evolution. This is evident from how hot the shell becomes to the touch.

Pokedex #015: Beedrill:  Beedrill is extremely territorial. No one should ever approach its nest—this is for their own safety. If angered, they will attack in a furious swarm.

Over the next few days I will be going to Walt Disney World (WDW) and, much like Mr. Joseph did with his road trip, I will be recording the details of the day on my other blog. Enjoy my travel log!

Pokedex #010-012

ATTENTION: please read pokedex #001-009 (3 separate posts) before reading this one! Thanks!

Pokedex #010: Caterpie: Caterpie has a voracious appetite. It can devour leaves bigger than its body right before your eyes. From its antenna, this Pokémon releases a terrifically strong odor.

Pokedex #011: Metapod: The shell covering this Pokémon’s body is as hard as an iron slab. Metapod does not move very much. It stays still because it is preparing its soft innards for evolution inside the hard shell.

Pokedex #012: Butterfree: Butterfree has a superior ability to search for delicious honey from flowers. It can even search out, extract, and carry honey from flowers that are blooming over six miles from its nest.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for #013-015 out of 721! (This will take a while)

Pokedex #007-009

ATTENTION: Read Pokedex Stuff #1 and Pokedex #004-006 1st, please!

Pokedex #007: Squirtle:Squirtle’s shell is not merely used for protection. The shell’s rounded shape and the grooves on its surface help minimize resistance in water, enabling this Pokémon to swim at high speeds. Squirtle cannot Mega Evolve.

Pokedex #008: Wartortle: Its tail is large and covered with a rich, thick fur. The tail becomes increasingly deeper in color as Wartortle ages. The scratches on its shell are evidence of this Pokémon’s toughness as a battler. Wartortle is the evolved form of Squirtle. Wartortle cannot Mega Evolve.

Pokedex #009: Blastoise: Blastoise has water spouts that protrude from its shell. The water spouts are very accurate. They can shoot bullets of water with enough accuracy to strike empty cans from a distance of over 160 feet.

Stay tuned for the next few entries!

Pokedex #s 004-006

In Pokemon, there is something called a Pokedex that is given to your character by the Pokemon professor of that reigon. I will be Showing all Pokemon, their Pokedex numbers, and whether they can Mega Evolve or not.

National Pokedex #004: Charmander: The flame that burns at the tip of its tail is an indication of its emotions. The flame wavers when Charmander is enjoying itself. If the Pokémon becomes enraged, the flame burns fiercely. Charmander cannot Mega Evolve.

National Pokedex #005: Charmeleon: Charmeleon mercilessly destroys its foes using its sharp claws. If it encounters a strong foe, it turns aggressive. In this excited state, the flame at the tip of its tail flares with a bluish white color. It is the evolved form of Charmander. It cannot Mega Evolve.

National Pokedex #006: Charizard: Charizard flies around the sky in search of powerful opponents. It breathes fire of such great heat that it melts anything. However, it never turns its fiery breath on any opponent weaker than itself. Charizard is the final evolved form of Charmander. It has 2 Mega Evolutions: Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y.

Pokedex Stuff #1 : National Pokedex Numbers 1,2, and 3

In Pokemon, there is something called a Pokedex that is given to your character by the Pokemon professor of that reigon. I will be Showing all Pokemon, their Pokedex numbers, and whether they can Mega Evolve or not.

Pokedex #001: Bulbasaur: Bulbasaur can be seen napping in bright sunlight. There is a seed on its back. By soaking up the sun’s rays, the seed grows progressively larger. Bulbasaur cannot Mega Evolve. It evolves into Ivysaur.

Pokedex #002: Ivysaur: There is a bud on this Pokémon’s back. To support its weight, Ivysaur’s legs and trunk grow thick and strong. If it starts spending more time lying in the sunlight, it’s a sign that the bud will bloom into a large flower soon. Ivysaur evolves into Venusaur. Ivysaur cannot Mega Evolve.

Pokedex #003: Venusaur: There is a large flower on Venusaur’s back. The flower is said to take on vivid colors if it gets plenty of nutrition and sunlight. The flower’s aroma soothes the emotions of people.

Pokemon Stuff

A few minutes ago I was playing Pokémon Omega Ruby. I was underwater (my character, not me) with Sharpedo when I saw a hidden Pokémon. I quickly checked my DexNav to see what Pokémon it was, and it was a Relicanth, a super rare Pokémon that only has a 5% chance of an encounter. 1 minute later, my Pokedex had already filled in the data on Relicanth, which I nicknamed Reli. I had caught a few other Pokémon before I caught Relicanth. Those Pokémon were a Chinchou I nicknamed Lanty, a Tentacruel I nicknamed Cruelly and 1 Pokémon after I caught Relicanth. It was a Clampearl I nicknamed Hunty.

Mega Findings

Earlier this week, I was playing a copy of Pokemon Y that I checked out from the library when I saw the game didn't have Mewtwo. So, I caught Mewtwo and transported it to my copy of Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. I then found Mewtwonite Y to give to my Mewtwo which I named Mew Two 2 because Mewtwo has 2 Mega Evolutions and I had caught Mewtwo in my copy of Pokemon X.

Science Quiz

Today I had a quiz on biomes as we concluded our unit on them. Since this topic is very interesting to me, I think that 19 questions weren't enough. Our class goes from 1:00-2:00 and I finished at 1:26! It's probably the fastest time I've ever taken and completed a test. Usually they're longer.

Legendary Catches Part 1: the Epic "Fail" of Lugia

I threw the pokè ball. Wait a minute. I need to tell you the whole story from the beginning. I had just  encountered the legendary pokemon Lugia in Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. Now I can go back to where I was. I threw the pokè ball at Lugia. It shook once, twice, three times. Then the pokè ball clicked. I did it! I caught Lugia! I was so excited that I forgot to save my game. I thought I had saved and turned my 3DS off. Next time I went back to my game, I checked my Pokemon storage unit in the game. I checked box 2, which is where Lugia was stored, when I saw that Lugia wasn't there! I was so angry I was on the brink of crying. I lost Lugia! I can always get it back though.

Band Instrument Tryouts

Today after Choice Hour I went to room 50 in my school (aka the Band Room) to meet with the teacher Ms. Eliassen. I've known ever since my dad let my sister and I play on HIS Trumpet that playing a Brass instrument isn't as easy as it looks. I tried the Trumpet out and I realized that maybe it is a path leading me to play other brass instruments like the French Horn*, Trombone, Euphonium, and Tuba. That was a VERY productive meeting.

*I ended up going with the French Horn.

Super Smash Bros. For 3ds Game Review

Super Smash Bros. for 3ds is an all-out brawl between certain Nintendo characters like Falco and Fox from Starfox, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Wario, and Yoshi from Mario, Captain Falcon from F-Zero, Wii Fit Trainer from Wii fit, etcedera. If you had to give between 1 and 5 stars, I would give this game a 10 out of 5. That's how good this game is. So, all the boys out there that have a 3ds or a Wii U, try this game out (there's also a version of it on the Wii U)!

Super Smash Bros. Victory!!

Just now I was playing Super Smash Bros. for 3ds. I was playing the All-Star Mode (where you face every single character in separate battles) as Ganondorf. This was the final battle. The stage was Prism Tower from Pokémon X and Y. All the characters I had to KO was Lucina from Fire Emblem and Greninja from Pokémon. Lucina was the first of the remaining 2 of the final 7 (there are 7 in every battle except the first one which had 6). Greninja was a little tougher. but, I KO'd him on the highest platform in the stage. The end credits for All-Star mode are the same as the end credits in classic mode, I discovered.

Busy day

Today I had a bucket load of math homework since I couldn't do yesterday's yesterday because I had Opera Rehearsal. After I  finished THAT, I had to do my conference portfolio stuff for SS and the rest of the one for LA. After that I had to blog which is right now. When this is done, it will be as cool as the other side of a pillow.

Thank You!! (Inspired by Ryan Lewis, 2nd 2014-2015 JBOW Winner for 6th Grade)

Thank you everybody that voted for me for JBOW this week! I really appreciate it! Although it's really hard to write every day with a little sister that I have to face, every Monday I have Opera Rehearsal, Thursday is piano lessons and Friday is Voice Lessons but I can just write on Tuesday. So I will try my best to write every day from now on.

Stand and Fall

Yesterday in choice hour (I had Strings Open Practice), I was practicing the song I was going to play for the playing test in Orchestra when all of a sudden, Mrs. Gillespie's stand fell down! Everybody was saying, "Nadim" in a very accusing way. When Nadim was starting to return the stand to its staning position, I remembered what Mrs. Roberts always says at the beginning of Math Class when we're taking down the chairs, "See a need, fill a need." So I helped him and told him that I would be writing a blog post about this. And this is that very blog post.

Kroger Arts Contest Essay

Over the course of the USA's history, there have been many black people influencing our lives. I'm only explaining what six of them did, but  I can tell you that there are many more than six. These are probably the most famous people that there are. These people are: Booker T. Washington, Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Jackie Robinson, Rosa Parks, and Martin Luther King Jr. This essay explains how they influenced my life today.

Booker T. Washington was a educational leader for the blacks. He knew how important education is for people and he decided to open a school for the black called Tuskegee Institute in Tuskegee, AL (it is now called Tuskegee University). Booker started his school in an old abandoned church in 1881. Tuskegee Institute grew into Tuskegee University, a college. He valued education so much, he founded (and was the principal for a short time) of a school. He thought it was important for ALL people to have a good education. Not just African-American people, but Whites and Muslims and Jews and Christians and Hispanic people and Asian people. I believe that this is how Booker T. Washington is important to our world today.  I want to create a school like him and value my education like him.

Frederick Douglass was a respected author and speaker for the blacks. When he was eight in 1826, he educated himself (with the help of his master's wife)! At the meeting of the Massachusetts Antislavery Society, he told the people what freedom meant to him. This kicked off his career as a speaker because the people at the MAS hired him to give a lecture about being a slave. In 1845, he wrote his autobiography which kicked off his career as an author. Also, he founded an antislavery newspaper called The North Star. His house was a stop on the Underground Railroad, a series of houses that helped African-American slaves reach the northern side of the USA and/or Canada. Writing is definitely a strong suit of mine and I really want to become an author like Frederick Douglass.

Harriet Tubman was the most famous "conductor" of the Underground Railroad which as I said before is a series of houses that helped slaves "Follow the Drinking Gourd", aka the Big Dipper (which has the north star that always point North) to northern USA/Canada.  "A lot of people called her Moses because she reminded them of Moses who freed the Jewish slaves in Egypt because she led thousands of people out of slavery in the south. When Tubman was young, she saved another slave from getting whacked by a metal weight. She saved the other slave and fractured her skull by this metal weight. I know Harriet Tubman changed and shaped our world today. She was determined to get slavery abolished (gone forever).  Her determination urges me to be able to accomplish things in life.

Jackie Robinson was the very 1st African-American baseball player and the very first African-American to do a lot of things. For example,  he was the first African-American vice president of a coffee company. But baseball is the thing he's most known for. Every team in the MLB cannot use the number 42 (Jackie Robinson's number) for any of their players as tribute to him. He thought that there shouldn't be a seperate league of baseball (the negro league) for African-American people. He is basically the African-American Babe Ruth. This is how I believe Jackie Robinson changed our lives today. He helped African-Americans play in Major League Baseball. Determination can accomplish anything. He was determined to break the color barrier. His determination to play baseball urges me to try new sports even though I might not be good at them.

Rosa Parks was an amazing civil rights activist. Everybody knows that she was on a bus when a police officer told her, "Get up. Somebody wants to sit here." Of course she said "no." She was arrested for sitting on a bus JUST because she was African-American. But she kept going and in the end, the Supreme Court declared that segregated buses were unconstitutional. Rosa Parks won the battle of segregated buses!! She was busy even when she was in jail. She was writing her autobiography. This shows that the power of writing can help accomplish anything. She was really brave in fighting for what's right. She got arrested three times! Her determination for fighting for what's right is one thing I can't do...yet.

I'm sure that there were many civil rights speakers out there like Ghandi and the Friendship Nine. But the most famous civil rights non-violent protester was Martin Luther King Junior. Two presidents had wanted to stop segregation (JFK and LBJ) but everyone else said "no". The congress could override a president's veto!  He was arrested many times and still he kept going!! This shows how the power of determination can get you anywhere. Martin Luther King was brave and never gave up. He took risks and I know that someday there will be someone else like him that can end segregation around the world without violence.

As I look through these people's lives, I can see that education and determination can and will accomplish a lot. If you're determined to establish world peace, travel as much as you can and spread peace between Israel and Palastine (1/2 of Israel). If you want everyone to have an opportunity for a job to make money for their families, you value your education. These are important values that inspire me.

Wonder Essay #3

I think some important ideas for the book wonder by R.J. Palacio is to not judge a book by their cover. Another one is don't be a bully. A third one is to not think that someone is bad on the inside because they look weird on the outside. Wonder is a book about a boy having to deal with a facial disfigurement. Everybody has a bit of prejudice against him. Everybody likes him toward the end of the book to the finish. I think the theme of this book is don't judge a person by their appearance.

In the story, a bully named Julian always seems to pick on him. For example, in the chapter Lamb to the Slaughter, August and Julian were taking about Star Wars and Julian called him but didn't really call him Darth Sideous. This shows that bullies can do things to people that aren't that nice. August knows that "In Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith, Darth Sideous's face gets burned by sith lightning and becomes totally deformed" . In the end, everybody (even Julian’s friends) like August.  In the book House of Robots by James Patterson and Chris Grabenstein, the bully Cooper Elliot is always mean to the main character, Sammy Hayes-Rodriguez. But Sammy usually ignores him. I wonder if Julian can make any other simalarities of August because of his face. Like Darth Vader. Or maybe Darth Maul. Lobot is also a possibility.

Also in the story, everybody was staring at August because of his face. For example, in the chapter Locks and in every chapter of Part 1, everybody is staring at him because of his face. This shows that everybody was judging the book of August by his cover. In part 6, everybody gets used to his face. In part 8, everybody in Beecher Prep Middle School really likes him. I bet that everybody will invite him to their birthday parties. They might also invite him to their Halloween parties. Maybe Christmas parties if they have them. In House of Robots, Sammy's mom builds a robot named E and everybody stares at him because he's a robot. But later in House of Robots, everybody (except Cooper Elliot, the bully) loves E because he's AWESOME!! He can do AWESOME stunts because Sammy’s mom uploaded sports videos onto his bionic chip the 1st time she had to repair him. I don't get why people can be so mean. Maybe something happened to them and they want to take it out on others.

By the end of the story, everybody is nice to August because he's really nice on the inside so nobody except Julian doesn't like him. For example, in the chapter Alien, Amos, Miles, and Henry defend him from some older kids who were making fun of him. They were calling him names like "Gollum! Alien! An orc!" and "Freddie Krueger". This shows that nobody is weird on the inside just because they look weird on the outside. In House of Robots, E is loved by everybody, and he is a robot. E is even liked by Cooper Elliot. Apparently, Sammy’s mom uploaded sports videos on E’s bionic chip when she had to repair him. That’s how he got the ability to do all these AWESOME stunts. Sammy stands up to Cooper Elliot in the end because he helped these people steal and disassemble E and Sammy was just protecting his brother.

The theme of this book is don’t judge a person by their appearance. That really comes into play for most bullies like Julian Albans and Cooper Elliot. In House of Robots, Sammy is also kind of a bully to E. I am also basically a bully to my own sister. Bullies always pick their victims because they're weaker than them. Stand up for yourself, and they might (and probably will) stop.

Suessical Musical

"Places!" the director of Suessical Jr. told us. It was time for the first performance of Suessical the Musical Jr. and I knew that it would be awesome. I wasn't afraid. It was my 13th play (if you count operas. if you didn't, then it's my 11th) and it was surely the wackiest one. I think that this play was a little boring because I sat in the hallway with all the other Who Citizens and waited most of the play. By the end of Suessical, I was STARVING!! Luckily, my mom and sister helped me through my hunger. It was kind of fun.

Mark of the Dragonfly Literary Essay

If you find something that isn't yours, the right thing to do is to return it. That is what I think The Mark of the Dragonfly (cover of Mark of the Dragonfly) by Jaleigh Johnson (picture of Jaleigh Johnson) is about. The Mark of the Dragonfly is about a girl named Piper and her friend Micah. Piper finds a girl in a meteor (meteor) storm (thunderstorm) while Micah is hurt from a meteor. She takes the girl back to her house (She's an orphan) (Annie) and helps her because she had fainted in the caravan Piper found her in. She's trying to return the girl to where she lives (the Dragonfly Territories) even though that's the place that killed her father (bloody sword). As I said before, I think The Mark of the Dragonfly by Jaleigh Johnson is about doing the right thing and returning something that you find to where it belongs.

Early in the book, there is some evidence (Detective) that doing the right thing is crucial. Piper fixes a music box (jack-in-the-box) her friend Micah brings to her. She knows that it is the right thing to do, so she fixes (Hammer) it. For example, "'Look, you said to fix it, so I fixed it.' Piper said crossly. 'Stop bothering (noise) me and try it out.'" It works good as new and Micah thanks her (the reason he came to her is because she's the town's machinist)(Hephaestus, Greek God of The Forge). She also advices Micah who to sell the music box to. She also tells him who to sell a copy of "The Wizard of Oz" (yellow brick road) which she thinks "'Can't be a good story (Book) though-that picture doesn't make much sense.'"

Also in the story, in the fields (farmer), Piper finds a girl with the mark of the dragonfly. She knows that it's the right thing to do, even though she was under the protection of the man who killed her father , King Aron (A king), so she takes the girl to her house and starts cooking (frying pan). For example, "An arm fell across Pipers lap. With great effort, she held in a scream (a mouth)... And for the second time that day, Piper was checking for wounds." The reason that it’s the second time is because Piper was checking Micah for wounds (band-aid) (he also got hit by a meteor). This shows that Piper cares about all people (stick figure), not just herself.

A little (dwarf) later in the book, the girl reawakens and has a panic (screaming person) attack. For example, the author wrote, "'No, no, keep it away!' she cried. Her voice was terribly hoarse (a horse)-Piper could barely hear the words...'Listen, the scrapper (the Pokemon Scraggy) you're punching is the one who saved you!" Piper then begins cooking soup for her and Anna (frozen movie cover) (the reason Anna is called “the girl” in this section of the book is that Piper doesn’t know Anna’s name yet). This shows that she cares (a heart) about Anna and she wants to help her.

Always (the abominable snowman) return something that you've found. This is important everywhere. It helps maintain balance (balance scale) with the universe (black hole). If something is lost (the cover of knuffle bunny by Mo Willems) and you've found it, it's YOUR job to return it. The Mark of the Dragonfly (insect) helped me realize that.

Sonic the Math-Hog!...hog...hog...hog..hog...

A few days ago In math class (Dunn Dunn dunn!!), we were all working on multiplication problems. I was sitting next to my friend Gabe, who was flying through the math problems. I wasn't even on that page yet! Since there were SO MANY PROBLEMS in the 2 pages we had to do, Mrs. Roberts, our teacher said we only had to do the even number problems for the first page and the odd number problems for the second page. Gabe was flying through ALL THE PROBLEMS FOR THE FIRST PAGE. I had just got to the 2nd problem on the first page. I noticed Gabe had made a mistake on the 2nd problem of the 1st page just as I finished the problem. So I told him, "Gabe, I see a bit of a mistake on question 13. I'm pretty sure that the answer is supposed to be 333"
"Thanks" Gabe replied.
The very next day, also in math, we were talking about yesterday. We started joking around at how Gabe did problems at the "speed of sound". Then, we decided to give Gabe a nickname. This nickname was Sonic the Math-Hog (instead of Sonic the Hedgehog).

Video Game Gladiators Battle #1

Not so long ago, in a world not so far away, there was an arena. In this said arena, there was a battle. This said battle was a SKYLANDERS VS. POKEMON battle. Each team had 6 and only 6 characters to choose from.  The first of the 6 battles was Wildfire (Skylanders fire type) vs. Kyogre's Primal Reversion (Pokemon water type). Wildfire started out with a weak Flamethrower which only did 3 damage (flamethrower = fire and Primal Kyogre = water). Kyogre used an origin pulse which is a water type move to take out Wildfire. Skylanders sent out Bushwhack (Skylanders Grass type). Bushwhack used Sunny Day to bring the sun out.  Kyogre used a weak Body Slam. Bushwhack used Solar Beam to take out the Kyogre (grass is super effective against water).

To be continued in BATTLE #2!!!

The Flu (Duhn-duhn-duhn!!)

I have bad news. I may or may not have the flu (aka influenza) so I may or may not be able to come to school tomorrow or the next day or wednesday (it's already wednesday. duhn-duhn-duhn!!). I hope I don't have the flu. My mom said at first (yesterday) that my cough that I've had since Thursday sounded like a sickness called croop. Now, the doctor said it was like the flu. Good news is, I finished the book I Even Funnier by James Patterson and Chris Grabenstein. Finishing a book is really good. Even though I always read or leo, (spanish pronounciation pronounced layo).

SNOW DAY!!

Something awesome is happening. There could be a snow day tomorrow!! That seems pretty awesome but there's another side too. If there are too many snow days, cold days, or ice days there could be more school after school officially ends! It cuts too much time into summer break. If there is a snow day, I plan to test out my new snowboard on this HUGE hill in my backyard, which is the exact same hill as when I started sledboarding (see Combination Explanation). Then, I'd probably go inside and play some video games (cold weather affects my asthma). The spelling bee at my school is tomorrow, and I'm definitely NOT prepared.

Wonder Literary Essay 2

I think some important ideas for the book wonder by R.J. Palacio is to not judge a book by their cover. Another one is don't be a bully. A third one is to not think that someone is bad on the inside because they look weird on the outside. Wonder is a book about a boy having to deal with a facial disfigurement.

In the book House of Robots by James Patterson and Chris Grabenstein, the bully Cooper Elliot is always mean to the main character, Sammy Hayes-Rodriguez.

Also in the story, everybody was staring at August because of his face. For example, in the chapter Locks and in every chapter of Part 1, everybody is staring at him because of his face. This shows that everybody was judging the book of August by his cover. In House of Robots, Sammy's mom builds a robot named E and everybody stares at him because he's a robot. But later in House of Robots, everybody (except Cooper Elliot, the bully) loves E because he's AWESOME!!

By the end of the story, everybody is nice to August because he's really nice on the inside so nobody except Julian doesn't like him. For example, in the chapter Alien, Amos, Miles, and Henry defend him from some older kids who were making fun of him. They were calling him names like "Gollum! Alien! An orc!" and "Freddie Krueger" This shows that nobody is weird on the inside just because they look weird on the outside. In House of Robots, E is loved by everybody, and he is a robot. Also, Cooper Elliot gets arrested for stealing E.

The theme of this book is don't judge a person by their appearance.

From Writing on paper to writing on the Internet

Yesterday, I got a literacy notebook from a nearby pharmacy. Today, I just wrote my first thing in it. It goes like this:

I need a literacy notebook for 1 main reason: WRITING WITHOUT THE INTERNET! This process is easy, so I haven't lost it writing these 40 posts on this thing (aka a blog, aka an Internet-needed literacy notebook). Basically, if an idea pops into my head when I can't get an Internet connection (aka wifi), I'll write it down in my notebook. Then, when I have an Internet connection, I'll write it down on my blog like I'm doing right now. It's basically copy and pasting from writing on paper to writing on the Internet.

New Pet's Day Part 2: Rudolph (Rudy for short) the Russian Tortoise

"Do we HAVE to go in? It looks scary." My little sister Ava whined as we pulled up to the Stingers Exotics Pet Shoppe. We were going to get my mom a tortoise. All of us went in. My sister asked the lady working there, "Do you have any animals walking around?"
"We have a tortoise."
Ava freaked out even though I'm sure that the lady was joking because my mom and I never saw any animals walking around. My mom and I took Ava to the car and let her stay in there and watch The Chronicles of Narnia the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. My mom and I went back in. I asked, "Can I get 1 of the bearded dragons? Please?"
"When you prove you can be responsible with your fish."
My mom replied. A few minutes later, we were almost all ready to go. We had picked out a Russian Tortoise. We just needed to get the package ready. It was going to take about 20 minutes. So we got frozen yogurt from a nearby frozen yogurt store. When we came back Rudolph the Russian Tortoise was just about to become a Roessler.
