Goodreads Author Response 2: the Grabenstien (another story)

A few days before the Shurtliff response, I had sent a message to Chris Grabenstien the author of Escape From Mr. Lemoncello's Library and he replied with this message:

I'm so glad you enjoyed MR. LEMONCELLO and are reading I FUNNY. Read, read, read! Best, Chris.

It was AWESOME!

Goodreads Author reply 1: the Surtliff response (Idea inspred by Thomas Forberg)

Today as I was checking Goodreads, I saw that the author of Rump: The True Story of Rumpelstilsken Liesl Shurtliff had replied to the message I sent her about an hour ago. The reply said:

Hi Kevyn,

I haven't thought of any books past Rump, Jack, and Red, but I can say that Goldilocks is in Red, and she's really good!

Best,
Liesl

I was never more excited in the world (except for when I got a message back from Chris Grabenstien but that's another story)!

The Time I Got Locked Out of the Blogger Application

At home, I was trying to do my AHW or At Home Writing on the Blogger App when it said, "sign in sign up" I clicked "sign in" since I knew Mr. Joseph's Google account (I don't have my own. My parents won't let me create 1). But when I typed in the password and tapped "sign in" (it was on my Ipad Mini) the app crashed. I tried again, but then there was another "sign in   sign up" screen! I decided to go on the website even though it was restricted (I knew the restrictions code). I typed in the restrictions code (this is NOT the restrictions code): 1234 and instantly, my blog post list showed up!     I learned that even though the app version might crash, you can always try the website. Unless there is no website, but I doubt that.

Wonder Literary Essay

In Wonder by R.J. Palacio, Auggie changes by not caring that people would hate his face like he did B.S. (Before School). I know this because the book literally says on pg. 307, "And for the first time I can remember, I wasn't even thinking about my face." This proves that Auggie changed throughout the story. I remember in one part of the book that the 8th grader said "Whoa!" when he saw Auggie's face and Auggie and Jack started cracking up. At the beginning of the book, Auggie is really afraid to go to school because he thought everybody would bully him because of his face. But at the end of the book, Auggie thinks it doesn't matter that SOME people (a.k.a. Julian Albans) didn't like him because of his face.

The Winter Fantasy

"I'm able by means of a secret charm..." I heard the first solo song of the Pied Piper as I walked to the backstage of the Michigan Opera Theatre stage. I was going to be in the MOTCC concert A Winter Fantasy with the Michigan Opera Theatre Children's Chorus (I'm in the MOTCC).  After doing a ton of rehearsal, we were just about to start the fist song which was with the MOTCC Preparatory Chorus and it was called: We Gather Here Together. After, the MOTCCPC (Michigan Opera Theatre Children's Chorus Preparatory Chorus) went backstage but since I was in the principal chorus, we stayed on and sang Wake me a Song, The Pied Piper parts 1-8, This Little Light of Mine, and Little David, Play on Your Harp before we went out and the Prep Chorus went on. They sang 4 songs I don't know, and 2 songs that I did know from my 1st year in the Prep Chorus (I was in Prep for 2 years before this year, my 1st year in principal). They were Come Along and Dance and Evening Prayer.  Then, a group of girls from the Principal Chorus sang a song called Dome Epais. Then, everybody in the principal chorus came out and sang Avec la Garde Montante, an excerpt from the opera Carmen. Next up was a song called 2 French Noels. After that we sang a gospel song called Go Where I Send Thee! This was a cool one because it went into 5-part harmony. Then, every single principal chorus alumni that was the audience (there weren't that many) came up to the stage and sang Come and Sing with everybody in the Principal Chorus. Almost a minute later, the Prep Chorus came on and we (the MOTCC Principal Chorus, the MOTCC Prep Chorus, and the MOTCC Principal Chorus Alumni) sang Sleigh Ride.

Mrs. Roberts Moment 1: 2nd Day Science/Math Class

On 9/3/14 (the 2nd day of school), I went to Mr. Joseph's room even though I have Math first thing but I didn't know that. The person who told me I had math 1st was Niyathi. Then, I went to 600c and math class w/ Mrs. Roberts had begun. I had just gotten in there when I heard Mrs. Roberts saying, " Our 1st unit will be fractions." Everybody started booing. "Fractions are friends, not foes. I just had a nemoment there." That was the spark of the 5th grade math class of 2014's catchphrase. Then, we were starting the lesson 1.1, which was very easy. Then, I met Colin and Evan (well, I already knew Evan from homeroom). We worked on our Homework and Remembering 1.1.

At 1:00, everybody headed to science. We were watching the movie Blindsight. We have already seen some of it from yesterday so we knew it's about blind kids who are climbing a mountain. We watched the movie for all of Science class.

The Lyrics of the Winter Fantasy Songs

I am in a concert called A Winter Fantasy. These are the lyrics to all the songs exept the whole Pied Piper of Hamelin lyrics,  the Sleigh Ride lyrics, and the Come and Sing lyrics. Come to the Winter Fantasy on 12/7/14 to hear the whole song.

We Gather Here Together: We gather here together with joyful heart and mind. We raise our voices ever our distant souls to bind. To remember in this moment our friendship, love, and joy, that music made together may one day heal mankind. (x2)

Wake me a Song: Out of the silences, wake me a song, beautiful, sad, soft and low. Out of the silences, wake me a hymn, whose sounds are like shadows, soft, and dim. Out of the stillness, tone by tone, cold as a snowflake, low as a moan. Out of the stillness in your heart, a thousand songs are sleeeping there, wake me a song, thou child of art! Out of the darkness, flash me a song, out of the darkness, flash me a song, brightly dark and darkly bright. Brightly dark and darkly, darkly, darkly bright, let itr sweep as a lone star sleeps the shadows of the night, wake me a song, sing it sweet! Where nothing is drear, nothing is drear, or dark or dim, or dark or dim. And Earth's songs soar, and Earth's songs soar into heavenly hymn.

Pied Piper of Hamelin: song too long to write lyrics

This Little Light of Mine: This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it  shine. Everywhere I go, I'm gonna let it shine. Everywhere I go, I'm gonna let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine. All through the night, I'm gonna let it shine. All through the night, I'm gonna let it shine. All through the night, I'm gonna let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine. This little light of mine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine. Oh, ooo.

Little David, Play on Your Harp: Little David, play on your harp. Halelu, halelu. Little David, play on your harp. Halelu.(x2) Little David was, David was a shepard boy. He killed Goliath and he shouted for joy. Little David was, David was a shepard boy. Don't you he killed Goliath and he shouted for joy. Little David, play on your harp. Halelu, halelu. Little David, play on your harp. Halelu.(x2) Old Joshua was, Joshua was the son of Nun. He never would quit until his work was done. Old Joshua was, Joshua the son of Nun. Don't you know he never, never would give up til his work was done. David played, he danced and sang all day til the heavens rang. Singing songs of joy and praise, David played his harp for the rest of his days. Little David, play on your harp, little David play, on your harp. (x4) Little David play on your harp, Halelu!

Carmen: Lyrics in foreign language.

Two French Noels (only English lyrics): Willie, bring your finest drum, Robin, take your flute and come, play a joyful song of praise, tu-re-lu-re-lu, pat-a-pat-a-pan, play a joyful song of praise on this wondrus day of days. (French lyrics). Long ago on Christmas morn when the holy child was born, shepards from the feilds did come, tu-re-lu-re-lu, pat-a-pat-a-pan, shepards from the fields did come playing on their pipe and drum. (French lyrics). So tis fitting on this day that on instruments we play, like the humble shepard men, tu-re-lu-re-lu, pat-a-pat-a-pan, like the humble shepard men who were there in Bethlem. tu-re-lu-re-lu, (French lyrics). Pat-a-pat-a-pan, (french lyrics).
